    Hi all,

As the title suggests i'm new to the site . I have just bought myself a 2007 Grande T/D auto with 100'000 on the clock. My previous witch i still have and is for sale is a 1992 petrol auto 80 series Landcruiser. Absolutely no comparison. First thing to do was a Coupler Tec electronic rust system and window tint, I have a mate with a tint shop so went there and tinted it myself as i can. Whilst i tinted it he had his co-worker install the Coupler Tec system ,got the big system . Now i know when i take it to the beach it will be ok. Yet to test it on towing my 6m plate boat but no doubt it will do a better job than the 80 series.

The other thing i was wanting to do is a bullbar but one i test drove had a steel bar on it and it seemed to shake pretty bad while driving, do all bullbars do this or just the steel ones. It doesn't have to be winch compatable as i probably won't be doing that serious offroading in it but i don't want something that shakes around on the front.

Any feed back would be great thanks!!
Looking forward to finding out more info on Prado's soon

    Cheers John

    Hi John,
Welcome to the community and congrats on the new purchase. You will find the bull bars on the 120's do seem to move around a bit, does on mine and there are no dramas but all mine have been steel types. You will most probly find bull bars on the net that people have taken off and replaced with ones that do have a winch cradle. I know ARB did standard ones (I had one and sold for the winch cradle optioned one myself) but you will find plenty to look at from Ironman, MCC, Powerful etc etc etc. Others with the factory alloy bar might be able to shed more light on weather theirs moves around too.

    Cheers,

There's a few threads in the bullbar shake. As long as your mounts are ok the shake shouldn't be anything to worry about

It's not actually the bull bar shaking. The bullbar is bolted to the chassis. The body is one rubber mounts. It's the body moving on its mounts, in relation to the chassis, makes it look like the bar is shaking. My Factory alloy bar does it all the time

Welcome Johnny120. I notice you have bought one of the 'older' 120 D4D's. Without wanting to worry you (as you must have more important things like looking after your new car), just pay attention to the Toyota injector sheets or seats as they are known. I understand a lot of the older one's (@06/07/08) had copper seats which without attention could potentially bugger the engine!! All new D4D's have new style sheets/seats and they are a different part number etc. I understand the copper ones' are not available anymore. It would be my advice to see if the previous owner had changed to the new style injector seats. As it's low k's I doubt it so I'd be getting a competent diesel fitter (not necessarily Toyota) to change them all over and check the injector values.

p.s there are 144 pages on this....and counting..nice one Toyota!!!

I'd be prioritising this more than a 'shaking' bullbar moving on it's mounts. Injectors are a consumable item so do need to be changed eventually anyway.....other than that enjoy your vehicle you are only young once!!!!
