  • Just the injectors.

The cruise in my 120 is fine

    • Head lights on has been proven to work, hence the reason it was made compulsory for motorcycles.

It appears the hyperactive cruise control is confined to the 120 petrol.

I drove a V8 diesel auto Land Cruiser from Sydney to Newcastle and back today. Nice to drive and plenty of grunt. The cost of ownership is a bit of a bummer.

Its not because of your reasoning tho... I do this because not everyone is as good as you behind the wheel, If my lighting during
daylight hours increases my vehicles visibility for the other road users, I don't see the hassle ... I like advised just turn em on

As mentioned turn yours off, may help to look in the glove box and read the instructions to operate that 150 mate?

but if your such a good driver, who needs instructions, just burn the book , Cheers mate Butane

And then you get the flashers who think you've left your headlights on by mistake and are about to run your battery flat.

Over here in WA - they have run campaign to switch headlights on when driving in the country for quite a while, myself have always driven in country with my low beam on for years- especially with having a black car

"The RAC adopted DRL as a major Easter Road Safety Campaign in 1997. The concept was not new, having been first applied in Texas in the early 1960s.

Texas and Perth (high ambient light conditions) share the same latitude range (30 to 35 degrees) North and South of the equator."

Must be not the norm for you guys in QLD

          • For many years I have driven in the country with low beam on to improve my visibility. I have fitted DRLs to the 150. I think it can only help especially if you have a dark coloured car.

No Offense to any of you who do this but.. WHO drives with your headlights on during the day.. only Pretentious fools thats who.
I am an educated driver that drives to the road and weather conditions and I dont need some safety twat from TOYOTA telling me that I need my headlights on during the day and at all times. does anyone know how to fix this?
You say no offense and then go on to make a statement that will offend a lot of people, not bad 3 posts in!

What is the problem with having your headlights on?

Oh and this thread is the 120 section so doesn't even apply to you, or are you just trying to be pretentiuos

                  Cheers Andrew

If I'm driving long distance I always have my lights on. Why, because it helps the other guy coming towards you see you. Pretentious I think not. Smart yes!

                    • I am currently on a trip towing the van and its much easier seeing cars come towards you with lights on, I also drive with mine on. My eyes still work too.
stepped up the a 200 LC for towing,
but had a 2012 and 2010 150 Prado GXL auto diesel in Graphite with Bridgestone D697 A/T. Dobinson C59-300/325 and Bilsteins. Accessories : two baby seats. • Same here. Lights on whenever I'm not in the city or the weather is foul. The amount of people up here in Cairns who don't turn their lights on when its pouring rain is astounding. Especially when they drive a black or dark coloured car.

                        • Problem with lights on by day is that the dash lights, gauges, clock, radio etc will dim to the point of being near to unreadable.
                          Or is it just me?

                          • That's... Probably because you have lights on by the switch/stalk thing behind the wheel. On my car, I wired the led halos to turn on when I turn the key (because I have mars lights on my 120).

I notice that when you turn on your parkers, the lights in the dash etc automatically dim because the car might think its dark (which is why you turn on the lights before the DRL days) and they dim so you don't get blinded by them while driving at night but in the day, yes it's pretty unreadable.

I have never had a drama reading any of my dash read outs, clock or amb temp when I have the lights running during the day.
