  • High grade compass/altimeter/field monitor

Was this larger unit ever available in the Australian market. And if so, can the temperature be set in Fahrenheit?

I like this unit and would like to retrofit it to my US market Lexus GX 470. But I'm thinking it may only have been offered in some obscure markets. And Celsius only would, unfortunately be a deal breaker for me.

Is that photo of what you want or what you currently have? It looks very similar to my 120 but without the tape deck

My 120 GXL only has outside temp display. I think the multi monitors were on higher spec models. My manual has instructions for both, but nothing about changing the display from C to F. It's possibly something that could be done via a scan gauge if you are lucky, or it could also be a completely different module for different markets. Quick scan of the inter webs suggest it's common issue for Toyotas/Lexus owners

The one in your pic is this version:

It was never available in Australia. Available in Europe and middle East and I'd assume Japan. Not sure what other areas.

This one needs a different dash due to the height of the unit.

This is the top version in Australia:

A little more basic. Fits the standard dash. It's stand alone/self contained unit separate from the vehicles ECU. Came standard on the Grande (Top of range model here). I have retro fitted this into a lower trim spec GXL. It can't be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit (Unless there's some internal modification to do)

Lower trim models only came with the clock and outside temperature display.

Ah, I see what you mean now. It does require a different dash. I was hoping it simply replaced the smaller unit. I guess that's one upgrade I can scratch off of my list.

The U.S. market GX 470 got the Grande unit you have pictured. Shows temperature, fuel economy, altimeter and barometer. The Lexus compass is built into the auto-dim interior rearview mirror.
