    • Had the Prado serviced today. Although it's scheduled for the 180k service, I requested a 160k which is a major with all fluids replaced as its a belated post Cape trip service. The economy hasn't been too great of late and I was aware of an O2 sensor bringing up an P0126 code which I highlighted to the Yota Service dude. They quoted me a whopping $680 to replace 1 x O2 sensor! I had a look on Amayama and they're only $160 + shipping (ex UAE) so I think I'll be changing that out myself if I can manage to remove it successfully. Also a bit disappointed that they didn't highlight to me that the rear shocks are leaking ( all the way down the length of the shock that I was aware of but still). Might speak to the service Mgr about that...

      • I had rocksliders installed today by Anthony (#############) with the help of Jeff. It was a bit fiddly but the job got done without too much stress. The Prado now looks awesome especially combined with the lifted suspension I got done a couple of weeks ago. Just wanted to give #### a huge shoutout for all the work he's done on my Prado and all the sensible advice that he has shared with me. His workshop is immaculate which in my opinion is a reflection of the quality service that you could expect from such an establishment. He truly is a Prado specialist and i would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing any work done to their Prado. Thanks mate.
Can't wait to take the Prado out on its maiden offroad adventure this weekend to Wombat with Mark. Good times ahead!

          Doesn't the V6 have 2 O2 sensors?

            • Have you tried Coventrys or Repco or that other big mob (not supercrap). Sometimes they have O2 sensors cheaper than OEM, even from Amayama.

              • No haven't tried yet. I'll ring around in the next few days. I assume they're all pretty much the same as long as they're model specific?

Don't forget to ask her which is the better cycle for synthetic material, that way she has bought into the act and you have a defence at any resulting (murder) trial.

                      • Did a basic oil and oil filter service. I also took the middle ARB bash plate off where the oil sump is and drilled a hole where ARB should of so I can get access to the sump plug easily in the future.
Also found I have a split inner CV boot on the front passenger. I'll fix that during the week.

                          • I finshed wiring in the LED Lightbar, then did the regular check of the winch. It ground to a halt. What a pain to wind in the rope by hand. I'll have to take it out to see what's wrong. It seems to be getting 12V when triggered. Its a bit disappointing.

                            • Got the bar back from being coated:

                              Inner brace:

Inside of side wings, nuts tacked on to make installation/removal easier:

Inside of bar all coated after being sand blasted, zinc coated and then final texture coating:

This is the finish. Almost exact same colour as the mud flaps:

                              • Winch all back together. New paint and internals all cleaned and new grease. It was a bit like a jigsaw puzzle as I forget the order of the gear clusters.
