So, before bull bar goes back on time to remove left fender and install those reinforcement plates that I have had sitting in the shed for a while now.
First observation was all the gunk - mud and twigs - stuck in the drain
After removing battery and removing the bolts from the fuse box and main fuel filter I fitted the top brace. Thanks to Coventrys Fastners for the stainless nuts and bolts.
The the bottom plate. Some holes had to be drilled from above. I added a few extra bolts to this plate. All loctited in. Will put some body deadener on to it later.
Then before putting the fender back on I discovered this bloody crack. The spot weld has let go and the crack through the frame brace. I got to it with the mig but had to be careful as I didn't want to start a fire under the dash. Couple of metal screws to hold it in place too.

No, last time I looked it was still unavailable. I'm a bit scared to pull the right fender off after having done the left side. It will have to wait a while now anyway.Dave
