just got the prado back from Peter Kittle's crash shop
i have to say they did an excellent job repairing the car after we had a tyre blow
taking out the RH flare, RH door flare, scratched the RH front door, smashed the rear bumper + the fog light
scratched up the rear door, broke both mud flaps, & popped the LH rear flare
while it was there i had them paint the LH side & buff the front guards
paint a 2nd bumper that i use for the duel rear wheel carrier top & a Hilux bonnet scoop
all looked great when i picked it up except for some missing bolts & screws, all rectified
also found they didnt fitted the vent in the rear quarter panel, they said it didn't need it
but is said it was there smashed all over the road so put it back in
so a new one ordered to be fitted Monday and when you come back we will buff the bonnet as well
thanks guys , could you do the roof ?? no sorry that would be quite a job
so i guess i will be out there on the weekend polishing that to make the whole thing brand new again !!
better get the inside detailed before i take it up the oodnadatta track to go to Finke
now to refit all the interior that i had to gut for them to do the job !!

Must be the day for wheel rotation CraigM.
Flipped the BFG's around for a 5 way rotation also.
Inspected the disc pads for wear, as the service report from the 180000 km service last week stated that the pads are at Front 6mm and Rear 4mm [approx.]
Rears suggested to be replaced next service???
This must be the "Default" guesstimate when they can not be bothered to take the wheels off the vehicle...
I measured the fronts to be 9mm and the rears 7mm. 170k km service states Front 8-9mm and rears 6-7mm. Dick heads think we don't know when a wheel nut hasn't had a socket on it or a diff plug not been touched.
Also found some movement in the front right wheel when supported on chassis stands with wheel clear of the ground.
Movement was through the top to bottom axis, points to top ball joint.
These ball joints were fitted about this time last year when the control arms were out for bush replacement.
RoadSafe have a 2 year 40000 km warranty, so we will see how I go with Bursons this week.
Cheers

At least we know you can take it on the chin James.
Recon it was only a matter of time before I got the chop from the hood.
Cheers
