big day sorting out the car

wheels swapped -- check
all gear packed in -- check
sand flags -- check
twin wheel carrier fitted -- check
fix rattle in wheel carrier -- check
packed all the cooking gear --check
lifted the front up a bit more -- check
fitted diff drop kit -- check
fitted spacers in bash plates to re-align everything after diff drop -- check

wheel alignment done -- check now right at the end of adjustment so new top arms to be sorted soon !!
fixed HID that stopped working on the last trip -- check fixed by swapping to another set and called Baja designs for a replacement
packed the swags & stretchers added the space blankets --check
food brought, water brought, ALCOHOL bugga, back the the shops
water bladder in foot well -- check hang on have some water on the mats ?????
tools sorted, lights sorted, extra awning extension sorted
desert pass -- check

i think i have it all worked out

just the weather is being a hindrance

plan to leave Monday to do the dirt track to Alice Springs then back to Finke and off to Birdsville for 2 weeks

Ok, someone recently got one which was not drilled in the right spot.

Yeah I believe they're all hand aimed then laser cut, and with many things hand done, there's always going to be inaccuracies. Great plates nonetheless!

Fitted some new brake pads today. The originals lasted 6 years, the RDA I fitted lasted 2 years and I could never get rid of the brake squeal. I fitted Bendix 4wd today so hopefully they last a bit longer and don't make any noise.

Interestingly the rear pads were down to the wear indicators and the front pads were around 50%. I expected the wear to be opposite...

A day late cos I did it yesterday but anyhow....fitted a power filter to the LED Spotlight circuit to remove white noise/reception problems when spotties on. Good as gold now for grand total of $14.95. Full story here...http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...led-spotlights

Fitted a new battery isolator for the winch power supply.

Made the new lightbar all legal by wiring the 12v input to the switch to the highbeams instead of 12v constant. Btw, my car was +ve switched. High beam wire was red with white stripe. I tapped into it in the drivers side kick panel.

AC fan only working on high so pulled out the resistor, cleaned up and tested. Only missing lowest speed now but will get a new one soon as it is very badly corroded.
