Guy at work does the vinyl wrap, might look at some scratch protection for the sides.

      • While not today something is done to the Prado each week or so to slowly build her up to where I want her. With a couple of RDOs this week I fitted the rear spoiler and it really adds to the whole look of the car and finishes it off nicely (write up and pics are on the aussie120 FB page). But for reasons unknown to me in the last few days every second 120 that I see running around seems to have one. This did not seem to be the case before I fitted the spoiler. Them seems to be breeding..

Oh and Bushbasher you'll love the VDJ. Make sure that you put a decent exhaust on it as they sound mean. Oh and you'll cruise on $140 all day fully loaded with no effort. Brilliant engine

        • I removed the main fuel tank bash guard to clean out the Qld. mud and pebbles from our July trip.
Also parked her up on the front lawn/moss rocks to give the tank a clean and the chassis rails a thorough flush out.
Now to replace that tank guard.

Looking forward to having 8 cylinders up front. The mods list is very long and I'm looking forward to building it up now that the Prado has served me well.

Any idea what you're gonna replace it with? Ours had had a beating but don't want anything that hangs lower than OEM.

                  Hi Bill
When I say replace it I meant put it back on the Prado after removing it to clean out the trapped crud.
I have had it off before to belt out some rock damage incurred during some adventurous 4WDing.
                  Cheers

                  • Up on stands, wheels off, high pressure clean, fuel tank guards off, painted all the chassis, axles, etc. All nice and black now. Amazed at all the rocks, twigs and dirt caught in those tank guards.

                      Hey Dave,

What kind of paint did you use?

                      • Under the guards I used the Septone bitumenised chassis black. On the chassis rails and axles I used a Dulux metal satin black. All painted by brush, took a while.

                        • I done the famous Hilux washer jet upgrade, what a huge difference that made!

Also upgraded the reverse light globes to some higher output LED's to throw a bit more light out back when launching the boat. Fixed the left indicator in the sovereign bar, the way Toyota spliced it in to the factory loom was very ordinary.

                              I used these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181242698002

They are a T10 globe, there are cheaper ones but i chose these because they have a lens on the end like a torch beam plus leds around the side to use the reflector to give the light some spread as well.

To replace you undo the two 10mm bolts, and then the light is held in by 2 clips. So you just pull the whole light assembly rearwards to unclip it. I'm really happy with the upgrade, much more light. I will try and get a pic tonight.
