      But the exhaust didn't come with a dump pipe to turbo gasket, however it had gaskets for all other joints. You should be able to reuse the original, i also had all joints done with Permatex Muffler & Tailpipe Sealer to make sure it never leaked. He got access to the turbo bolts from underneath, it was soaked with WD overnight and one bolt still rounded and had to be cut off. So make sure you use a good 6 point socket and not a 12 point, and soak all nuts as much as you can. If don't have access to a hoist, you could try getting access from underneath first but you may have to go in through the arch if all else fails.
      Cheers for the advice I really appreciate it, I do have access to a hoist and you make good point about what type of socket I should use. I will soak the bolts with some Rustoff and Penetrine, and I will also get some Permatex as well.

        ended up losing a mudflap and popped off the rear bumper.. Twice.. Broke off the reflector too. Oh the joys. Least she's got battlescars now

              Tom Thumb pump and fluid from supercheap. Clear hose from hardware store, may be able to get it at supercheap but forgot to look and hardware was closer once I realised. If you don't need to do it straight away wait for a 25% of special at supercheap and you save about $45.00.
              Not sure what vehicle you have so check trans fluid is correct for yours. Different for 4 speed to 5 speed etc.
              1997 petrol auto, 430 000km. Still going strong.
              2004 petrol auto, 233 000km. Cracked dash and no help from Toyota!

                • Sorry guys, I binned the can after use. I just took one of the plastic trims into the shop and found one that had the best match although came out a little lighter in the end but you would hardly notice it.

                  • Fitted one of Leigh's booster Diodes - very easy plug and play with immediate measurable results so very happy. Used techstream to programme in two new cheap eBay key fobs. One perfect, one not yet registering with the engine immobiliser so may have to return one to locksmith to check immobiliser transponder. The key fobs are cheap insurance as the total cost has been $58.50 each including cutting and postage so I have no excuse for not having a couple of spares. Trying to clean up my badly oxidised headlight lenses, not very good results so far so may even buy a pair of cheap eBay copies.

                    • I noticed a slight pink puddle under the car and pink splatter up the timing belt cover, so got the water pump done under warranty @132k. So while they had it apart i got them to do the timing belt and worn idler pulley. In case anyone is curious on the cost belt was $80, idler puller was $100 and extra labor was $50, and i saw on their paperwork the water pump was $550.

                        I think that you can use Techstream to programme the key to function on the keyless entry as well. From memory under the Main Body menu? The locksmith I used has sent me out a new immobiliser chip to fit to my dud key, saves me the inconvenience of driving to the shop to pick it up. I emailed them a screen shot of the Techstream screen proving that the immobiliser was incompatible with the key chip and they sent out a new chip straight away.

                        • Picked up my prado yesterday at lunch time, so this morning i just did some simple things.
                          Added a dash mat, seat covers for the front, tire cover and installed most of a led kit for the internal lights, the map lights after a second go got one but still need another go at the other side. As its a hot day all the metal parts are hot making it a bit harder and they are a push and turn type. Even tried with pliers and some electrical tape to try and turn the globe.

                          • Not today, but over the last few weeks, changed the front left driveshaft seal. Sprang a leak about a month ago when the front diff oil was changed. needed to buy a second seal when I tore the first one. Bought my second one from Veale Auto Parts - $19.50 identical seal, as opposed to Toyota genuine $36.81.

                            • After returning from a week down in the southeast of SA (where I was reminded just how many rattles we had inadvertently "installed" during our few months in the Kimberleys last year) I did a bit of a check around 'the Precious'.

                              Noted the rubber stops missing (top and bottom) from rear door. Extensive web search for parts numbers (assisted by PP advice of course) and they are on their way in the mail.

                              Noted the rear door was scraping the latch when closing - mental note to add to jobs list (assisted by PP advice again).

                              Also did the old flat palm tests along all panels - sure enough, both front door lower panels are loose so ordered new clips.

                              ...oh, and vacuumed out about a bucket full of sand and pasty crumbs - damn you kids!
