Don't like my luck to keep the GVW below 2900kgs. Expect it could get up close to 3000kgs.

    Should I be worried?
I would avoid overloading my vehicle, Toyota set a GVM for a reason!

As mjr also said, you should have get a laiden weight for each axle also - with the van/trailer attached too. - Bearing in mind if you use a WDH some of the ball weight will transfer to front axle so you wont want to be near the GVM and front axle limit and then hitch up...

No I used a weigh bridge at the local wood merchants - may not be accurate though. Without me and my daughter in the Prado it would have come in at 2535 (I weigh 100 and she weighs 65kgs)

        • ARB winch bar, Runva 11xp and AMTS sexy red recovery points were put on yesterday.
Just home from work so I can now finally go over it in daylight.
Will wire the winch up on Saturday and cable tie up the plastic wings in the wheel arches too.
I'm guessing wiring up a winch isn't too hard. Should I bother rotating the gearbox though? Also need to find a place to put the isolator for it.

                      • Installed the Steinbauer and drove to Newcastle and back with the trailer on. Much smoother power delivery. No visible diesel smoke thus far, however it drops back gears a lot easier when it sniffs a hill now. Did a bit over 600klm's so will refuel next week and do another fuel consumption test to see if it's better than the chipit fuel wise.

Thanks John. Maybe they close down for a while over Xmas? I must have gotten lucky. Only took a month from order.

also replaced all four disks this week, fresh oil, air filter pollen filter ...etc

                              • Replaced the transfer case oil today as well as the engine oil. Spent a bit of time degrease the underside, washing the rig and cleaning the inside.

Son #1 wanted to help out rotating the tyres today, which was pretty cool. He was able to do everything except putting the rim back on. Apparently the best part was using the rattle gun to take off the wheel nuts.
