after reading this thread i panicked and went and had a good look could not find any cracks RELIEF..i have a late 07 model has any one had any issues with this model at all.

Its a horrible feeling when you first discover it. I sold mine soon after, thinking it was an omen.

Have you been to the Toyota dealer yet? I am interested in their reaction and the answer you get from Toyota. I am currently in dispute with Toyo in the Consumer Tribunal. Not progressing very quickly but I think it will come good soon.

Post here when you get an answer, please.

As mention previously mine has a crack that has not really expanded , and i have not done anything about it other than leaving it covered by a dash mate.But what i have been wondering lately is, is it only the grey dash that are cracking,or has it affected the brown trim dash as well?. I know that the brown dash are only available on a few colours so would be fewer in no out there but maybe the vinyl may be a little different and hasn't crack.
I didn't read back over the 40something pages being lazy and maybe the answer lies in those threads so sorry in advance but if there is one recorded then i will assume both colours are prone to cracking

Chalk another one up to cracked dashboard above instrument panel. been there for a few months, but starting to come apart further!!! nowhere else though, also have a dash mat on mine.

Mine is a beige interior and therefore has a brown dash.

Mine is also a brown dash. 2003 model and has had a dash mat for most of its life!
My cracks are around the edges across the whole vehicle, the air bag area(with a new one just this week) and down the edges near the door.

Amts, keep us posted. I'm interested to see how someone from SA gets on with this issue.

Mine has a couple of small cracks near the air vent on the drivers side. They dont seem to be getting worse, and I dont see the worth in forking out around a grand just to fix it. I intend to keep the car for a while, so resale isnt too much of a concern at this point in time.

The Prado is at Stewart Toyota Rockdale for the Sovereign bar recall today. They needed the car overnight as the bolts supplied were too short. So I asked about the cracked dashboard and apparently Toyota aren't doing anything with it now for out of warranty Prados. I'll make more enquiries when I'm back in Adelaide. I suspect that TMCA is tightening its belt.

Sorry to say but today I noticed a crack from the drivers side vent to the edge of the dash on my July 07 model. Will be off to Bridge after new year to see what they have to say.

Your Prado is the 2003 like mine. I got the message "...no more Out of Warranty claims for vehicles over 7 years old ... . If they try that on, Appeal through the Dealer first and then contact the Customer Relations people (phone number in the Service Book). Ask them to appeal for you (they contact the dealer but it is another appeal).
Let me know what happens because that was my experience. The next step is a bit messy but you will get a result.
