Cheers Steve. At this point, I will do it myself if I can get the part at 50%. Otherwise, my outlay is $800 for the dash and DIY or $1100 going through the dealer.

I was thinking it maybe worth approaching a accident [smash] repairer for a quote as i assume in the event of airbags deploying in a smash then they would repair the dash ,and maybe they are able to offer a price for supply and fit a new dash pad.New 2015 150s GX 5 seater with floor mats, towbar and a big wish list
Previously a 2004 120s 1KZ GX silver manual with stuff
before that a 1996 RV6 90S with lots of gear

I talked to the ACCC the other day and they were concerned about the issue, but said if its a safety Issue with Airbag deployment, then I should talk to the Federal Department of Road Transport, they gave me a phone number, but every time I ring someone hangs up. The number is 02 6274 7111. If anyone else knows another number that would be great.
Dont understand why I have to pay $1500, the offer from the Toyota Dealer, considering it is a manufacturing defect

Was reading the car section in Macca's last night (kids choice), think it was the Daily Telegraph in Sydney Car section and 2 people had wrote in complaining about cracked dashboards in 120's, the response was Toyota had in some way accepted some liability and offered a discount of 70% for customers with this problem. Did anyone else see this?Anthony 2014 Graphite GXL TD Auto: BFG AT's, Oztrail Awning, Scangauge II, Red Arc SBI12, Tekonsha P3, GME TX3100, Engel 40L, iPad Mini on Ram Mount running Hema and TomTom maps, GPSMAP64 on Ram mount. I saw one in the cars guide this week and the person had written in to say that Toyota had offered to pay 70% of the part cost and not the labor! He asked the questions is this a good offer and they replied with "YES" take it!!!! Are they mad why should any of us pay for something we had no control over and due to the fact they obviously used shit products when making it... I wish there was something else we could do!! Suggestions? As I'm all out 😡2005 GXL Prado, Bilstein Shockers, King Springs, IPF 900xs, Steel ARB Bullbar, 12000lbs winch, GME 3540 UHF, Weaco 50L & 38L, Dash mat, carpet and rubber Prado mats, awesome after market head unit BF Goodrich & more to come

Just adding to the list, I have a 2003 gxl purchased with 30k. It's been around Oz and over some very harsh corrugations, left in the sun and never had armor oil applied but otherwise regularly cleaned. Just recently a similar hair line crack has appeared...my main concern is how to possibly stop the problem and repair the existing crack.
Are there any suggestions which may save me reading through all the posts?
Your ideas would be appreciated.
Cheers

Has anyone got anywhere with the ACCC yet?
