Sorry folks, seems my sarcasm didn't get picked up.
No, I wasn't surprised at all that he said it was the first time he had heard of it.

I've bitten the bullet and bought a replacement dash for my 2004 Playdoh...Now to find the 10 or so hours needed to replace it. At least I'll have the opportunity to pull apart all of the vents and clean them out, the red dust out here in Alice Springs gets into everything....especially the instrument cluster !

Bit of a late update but had to postpone the visit to Toyota to this coming Wednesday.
Will definitely be bringing to their attention the 'extended warranty' in US - cheers for the link Rainman! :-)NOW FOR SALE!!! - 2004 Silver GXL 3lt 4spd Auto - ARB Bullbar, Safari Snorkel, Redarc Dual Battery System, Cooper ST MAXX, Dark Tint, IPF900XS spots, Raised Bilstein/Kings Suspension/Firestone Airbags, Autosafe Cargo Barrier, Sandgrabbers, Rola Roof Rack Stuff, Insect Screen, Dust/Wind Deflectors, Sheepskin/Black Duck Seatcovers, GME TX3510, ARB underbonnet compressor, Allied Hammer Rims, ARB UVP, AJ Sliders

Have had a melting dash prob for some time now. Finally took it to the Toyota dealership. They had a look, noticed the sticky dash, but as soon as they saw a couple of cracks, they took photos of the cracks and ignored the sticky problem. Photos sent to Toyota. Result is they will cover 75% parts - I pay $570.2006 Grande 4.0L V6, Silver, Sovereign bullbar, Superwinch, Autocraft 2inch lift, Roolights, Dual Batteries

Late update but no (initial) joy for me.
Took Prado into Toyota and they took her out the back for photos. Also told me the Warranty Manager would have a look.
So photos were taken and have apparently been sent to Toyota Head Office, however...
Was then told that Warranty Manager would not be looking at it, as only 2 weeks ago a younger (2008) and less kms Prado came in with same issue and had their warranty claim rejected. I was told I should therefore consider my claim rejected (even though Head Office hadn't seen it), unless of course my some miracle Head Office decides to honour my claim...
I've since written to Toyota Head Office requesting confirmation they have received my claim and a formal response to it.
If rejected (which I expect will happen), I will push similar tactics to the Facebook page set up about melting dashs.NOW FOR SALE!!! - 2004 Silver GXL 3lt 4spd Auto - ARB Bullbar, Safari Snorkel, Redarc Dual Battery System, Cooper ST MAXX, Dark Tint, IPF900XS spots, Raised Bilstein/Kings Suspension/Firestone Airbags, Autosafe Cargo Barrier, Sandgrabbers, Rola Roof Rack Stuff, Insect Screen, Dust/Wind Deflectors, Sheepskin/Black Duck Seatcovers, GME TX3510, ARB underbonnet compressor, Allied Hammer Rims, ARB UVP, AJ Sliders

Good to see the passion, but i dont think a Facebook page will do anything to be honest. I hope it does but i dont think its worth the effort madkore2012 4dr JK wrangler, 3.5" AEV lift, AEV mags, 35" muddies, front/rear arb bars, tjm sliders, pioneer platform and some other goodies
