I also have a 2008 120 GXL D4D - bought last year in Sept with 110,000 kms on it. Now has 122,000. To me it was a retirement gift to myself. I expect it to last me 10 years - so it will be my last vehicle. But I intend to get everything I can out of it.

245,000kms and counting. I would like to see 400,000kms but like anything, if it starts playing up & giving me the shits up the road with it!

My '06 GX 1KD-FTV owes me at least until the clock turns 300k KM's - by then the rebuild will have been paid off....

I'm just at 189k KM now.....

I've seen a few Tundra dual cabs up here lately - nice. And then Friday I spot what looked like a slammed and chopped Freightliner prime mover. The badge said it was a Ford F650. OMG, what a monster. I guess if you are filthy rich you can have the biggest toy on the block. Think I will keep my 120 for a few more years yet.

I have had a 120 GXL 08 D4D since new, now 153,000. Only issue has been replacement of the water pump. I wish to keep my Prado for many more years As a good maintenance measure and advise on this forum, I have just replaced the injectors (Baileys) and cleaned out all the carbon build up in the inlet manifold and EGR valve. This has made a difference giving a smoother idle and no hesitation when accelerating. There was 3 to 4mm build up in EGR Valve elbow and 2mm thick in manifold. I would recommend doing this at around 140,000 to 150,000K. It is not a simple DIY job and it took me a week as I am not a diesel mechanic, but have all the manuals, tools and computer recode tool.
At the same time I had fitted a Fuel Manager F100 Prefilter 30u. Fortunately this was just before I got a bd batch of contaminated diesel in Hobart or Triabunna and caught about 1/4 cup of water. Saved all the hard work and any damage. Just cost me three new filters. Tank filter (14,000 k) totally black sludge from water.
