  • Storage of Third Seat

    Guys

What the best way to store the third seat out of the prado ?

I have left them in the car .. which worked until we when away on holiday . Maybe a couple of garbage bags will work .

How does everybody else store these seats??

    Cheers

    Mick

      Hi m999999,
I store my third seats in two large orange plastic garden bags and seal with packing tape, I did this for my old Pootrol third seats, had them in the back room for 10 years when I opened them they were like brand new and thats up here in the tropics.
      Hope this helps

found some big enough and tried it. When I sucked the air out parts of the seat cut the bag and stuffed them. Now ther just expensive garbage bags. Don't bother

Yep, we have done the same. Sitting flat on a shelf in the garage. Worked well for the last Prado as well.

Now you just need to find somewhere out of the way for them so you don't keep tripping over them or moving them out of the way

Mine was wrapped in foam wrapping media, then plastic sealed with packing wrap. Then popped them in the roof in a plastic trunk with the O-ring seals.
I kept one in the car, but have only ever used it 3 times so far!

I used thick plastic bags that are used for asbestos removal. If asbestos cant get out of these bags I am sure nothing can get in.

Don't do what I did and just put them in the back room - opened one up the other day to find a bloody mouse had chewed a hole in one. I am too scared to look at the other! So yes they should be covered / wrapped and at least mouse proof.

My third and second row seats are in Black Garbage bags and taped up. Storage is easy too 2 out of 3 kids have left home and I simply store then in my daughter old room.
