Whats it worth?

Hi Guys,

May have an o/s job prospect and will sadly have to sell my beloved Prado but wanted some advice on what your thoughts are on pricing as a i still have it on finance with about $17K left to pay and would be keen to sell it privately for a fair and reasonable price. As follows:

Prado 120 Series (Petrol)
2005 GXL -Manual
190,000Km's Full S/History
New Clutch -160,000K
Dark Grey with full Dark Grey Leather (8 seater)
Sovereign Bar with IPF's
Bush Skins Bash Plate
Dobinsons lift lit 50mm - 10 months old
BFG's AT's (40 % - tread x 5)
Factory Fitted T-Bar
Upgraded Sat/Nav Head Unit and speakers


The car is Reg's in Vic (Oct) and i am based in Melbourne, ideally i would like $20K back. Please let me know your thoughts as i was keen on getting $20K back or maybe i am dreaming. Family car some say Toorak tractor, never been off road apart from some camping trips easy life on the tarmac. Best car i have ever owned and will be buying another one 4 sure. Any comments / help is v much appreciated.

$20K seem ok for me but doubt you'd get any higher.

I paid $22.5K for my 2007 (2008 spec) Petrol late last year with almost the same km's but mine doesn't have a lift and I changed the tyres to MT STZ's myself earlier this year. Mine is also not leather but is an Auto.

Check carsales.com for vehicles similar to yours. Just be prepared for it to be listed for a while before a serious buyer comes along. It also depends on how long you are prepared to hold out for your $20K. I have to agree that seems like a fair price.

You should get 20k for that. I sold my 2004 Grande with 212,000 Kms on it with few more accessories for 20 couple of weeks ago.
Mine had heaps of dents, scratches and faded paint work. You have to be patient though... mine took 5 weeks to sell at that price.
You need to wait for someone who need/appreciate the extra fruit.

Watch out for scammers who say I am on an Oil Rig in the Bahamas, give my agent the car & I'll send the $$$.

Be careful...

Only accept a Bank Cheque.

Hi Nick,

19,999.00 & you could be fairly firm. It's a nice truck, & being under 20k you will get plenty of calls.
Might have to take a hit a few $$$ off.
If you have time try 22k you can always go down slowly.
