So - my 120 got broken into on Friday night. Front passenger window got smashed & made one heck of a mess. After losing my spots to thugs a while back I'm frikkin beginning to think I must have killed a pope in a former life..... Anyone had to replace a window recently? What was the cost? Windscreens Obrien say about $500 - $600 to replace. But can't get the part until Tues. Also - the tint will be on top of that price. Also found it interesting that WFI insurance didn't want to know until Monday. So..... I'm doing the plastic window thing......

Yeah I figured I'd have to get on to the tint pretty quick. Window is now all replaced, so will be doing this soon. Asked the O'Briens guy about toughened glass or any sort of security 'tint' that might help. Said there was basically no add on films that help secure windows. There are some so-called 'security tints' that make the glass a little tougher to break but all the thugs have to do is baseball bat the window a little harder and they're in. He did say that the likes of Mercedes and a few others have now come out with a glass that can genuinely cop a thrashing, in response to a large number of Merc's with smashed windows apparently. But nothing as yet on the horizon that can be fitted to existing vehicles.
I've lost too much friggin gear to thieving idiots man. Really tired of it. Sorry to hear about the bad luck... Can't really help with exact numbers for the side window glass but I recently did the windscreen on my 150. O'Brien wanted nearly 1k, Novus quoted under $400 for the same glass. IMHO O'Briens rely on their name to charge like wounded bulls, and get away with it.Comment
