  • Installation of Tunit chip on 120 Prado Auto Diesel

Guys I have recently purchased a Tunit chip for my 2007 prado with a view of increasing the towing capability. I followed the installation instructions leaving the adjustment set on (5), the chip has an adjustment ranging from 1 up to 9
I found that every thing was fine after the initial start up, the next day when I was leaving my home the motor suddenly went into "limp Mode" & the auto warning sign was displayed on the dash.
I found that the motor would not rev anything more than 1000RPM and I was lucky that I had only 200 meters to get home.

I rang the supplier and he advised me to turn the adjustment setting on the chip down to 4, this I did as per instruction
When I restarted the motor, I found that the warning sign was gone and the motor was running fine (& has continued to run fine over the past week)

Has any other members experienced this issue and inparticular what impact (if any) has it had their towing performances

    Cheers Texasbh

Wife and i just bought a 07 grande and are having problem with the engine going into limp mode at least once a week. The chip was in the car when bought from private seller. I dont know where to start to fix this problem as i dont want it to happen while on the beach or a creek crossing. Any help would be great. Cheer Phil
