  • Dismantling headlights

Has anyone dismantled the 120 Series headlights by any chance?

Wouldn't mind having a go at doing something like this...Click image for larger version

Its relatively easy. I just put then in the oven at 70C for 10 min. This softens the glue sufficiently to prise the glass off the back.

The biggest issue is to carefully re-glue it back when you have finished so it doesn't leak. - I failed.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. How much glue did you use and it still leaked?

I have, but, for the cost I can't justify it. Whereas some elbow grease, paint and butyl tape is definitely in the budget.

I didn't add any extra glue.

I'm not sure if it was the opening up or not as both headlights show condensation and I only opened up one of them.
