I am looking at a winch and the TJM guy is saying the 12000 lb OX winch is the go at $1150 and ARB is sayin that in that price range the Smitty Bit 10000 lb for $1050 is the go. I'm not sure as I've not used either. The Smitty Bilt is 10 kg heavier. I don't know if that means better. Both have synthetic rope. Opinions please.

How about the Runva winch? It's waterproof and costs way less. OziOffroad has them. -
I love my runva, had it about 3 months and used it a dozen times.
I got the awx12000 and it fits in the ARB Bar nicely.
Has a lifetime mechanical warranty and 5 year electrical
I got an email from the Australian distributor saying a little bit of silicone on the earth lead and its completely water tight and they will warrant water damageComment
