  • Got a new spare key - how I did it

    Hi Guys,

    I have a 2008 Prado GXL Diesel. I had One remote key, so I wanted a spare.

    I got mine done at Seven Hills, Key Mate, $220.

    There are two options available for the Prado, so take apart your original key, have a look at the numbers. They correspond to a certain frequency.

    60030 = 4C Chip inside = 304Mhz
    50171 = 4D chip inside = 434Mhz

    They did the immobiliser part, I did the programming part of the key. Use this to program it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGA6H6u9a_k

    Any questions, let me know.

    Thanks

      Unbelievably I got a spare key cut and programmed at a market in SE Qld when on holidays, works a treat. Only $90.
      Now if only I could find it.
