Sounds like the flap to me. Some one did a video on there's before and posted it but you could actually see the part that was causing the noise. Was just to the left of drivers knee, I remember they pulled the plastic cover off from under dash (just above your knees) and filmed it on the side of the heater box.... Have you pulled it apart to see if you can see it ??? Cheers Steve

I'll give have a look tonight Steve and report back on my findings. I'd had the dash apart so many times now for wiring bits and pieces I think I can do it in my sleep now

Update: I never got around to pulling it apart but the wife did some testing and found if you divert the air to the floor only it goes away so she put it back to the top vents and turned the AC on full rip. Maybe it was just crap in the vent or dust on a fan but it seems to have gone for now. Every time I want to look at it she thinks she's fixed it and tells me not to touch it until it comes back again. Damn it I wanna pull stuff apart

Hey Bill - bumping up an old thread. It sounds like I've got the same problem as you had.

Did you ever work out a fix?

                Cheers,
                Paul

                  Hi Paul,
Yes and no. It doesn't do it as often as it used to. Changing the mode from face to face and floor and back again also gets it to go away for a while.

Changing the temp slightly will also make the noise go away.

I have a 2006 120 Grande and also had this ticking noise on the drivers side behind the dash and was told itís the Climate control system and was advised to max the temp to Hot and then to Cold and then set the temp to whatever you need, and magic the noise is gone , happy days

My observation is when Engine is cold and Temp Gage is below normal range no ticking sound, But as Engine Temp increases ticking sound return . Hence some thing to do with Temp Gage.

                            Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had the part number for this clicking/flapping part?

I've been having a look and think it might be 55845-60100 as seen at the below link..

                            TIA!
