  • Oil low pressure light on steep hills?

Driving down some short but very steep pinches today I noticed the oil pressure light come on briefly. Checked oil level and its all ok. It's a 2007 D4D, injectors replaced 20 k ago and sump oil pick-up mesh checked every oil change and clean ( at least it was 3k ago). Is this normal?
    Thanks Willis

Spoke to a mechanic at Coffs Harbour Toyota who said it was probably ithe oil level light not the oil pressure light. The manual says the oil level light may come on periodically when driving over steep, rough terrain. It is orange oil can with a wavy line beneath it. That would make sense, it was bl--dy steep with one of the rear wheels about 80 cm off the ground. Sphincter tightening!
      Hope this is right.

Now I know what the Bendix 4WD pads are for.

If it was really steep you wouldn't have time to look at the pretty lights on the dash you'd be too busy watching where you were going.

              Great feedback guys!
              MJ, seat clean! Good undies!
Or maybe I was wearing a nappy as Corigator and Bushbasher seem to be implying.....
              Good idea for next time!
Anyway I was very relieved that the motor wasn't about to expire (yet!) and appreciate the humour!

It must have been ass over tit steep , I have been on some stuff I'd expect Christmas to come early, like just about falling through the windscreen it would seem & never had a light. Never had any of the crew report similar either.
Or were we too busy squeezing our but cheeks together to notice

My oil level was in the bottom third of the dipstick, maybe that makes a difference?

Hey piggy what Did you edit from my post?

Maybe it does, my oil is always on the full dot, it doesn't burn or leak
