  • $150 Scheduled Servicing

    Hi All,

Thought this one might be of interest.

When I was in signing the paperwork for my new Prado GXL the other day, the dealer manager mentioned to me that all new Toyota Vehicles purchased (with a compliance place) after April 2008, would have a flat rate, $150.00 being for the Prado scheduled servicing. (although, the website says $180...?)

This included all standard parts (ie. Spark Plugs) and Fluids.

Sounds like a very good way to keep people coming back to get a genuine Toyota service.

    More Info At - http://toyota.com.au/Accessories/access ... 14,00.html

I guess it depends on the dealerships and there reputation for doing good work or not. There are some dealerships I would not go to even if the service was free.

One in particular I know of and had experience with personally that may as well have a tick box on the service form for you to nominate what you don't want working when they hand the car back.

Pretty easy for them on a Petrol. Does it apply to diesel or is there a premium?

All the same from what I understand just needs to be Apr compliance.

Bugger, this was what I was told when I ordered the Prado. It was going to be an April or May production, and ended up being March. So that's crap then!!!

Typical! About how much is a regular priced service? I have only ever had a company car and no idea what they cost.

Compliance is done locally, tell the dealer you want it held off

It's a new thing toyota have got running to keep new customers for maintenance. It's called Toyota service advantage. It was a big sell when I signed for my Prado back in Nov 07. Then when I picked it up it was "sorry mate, only April compliance". Talk about wanting to give someone a back hander!

                      Toyoat Service Advantage.

I have just put my new VIN number in to inquire as to wether or not my new Prado is covered and the message came back saying - sorry but your vehicle is not covered by the service advantage. My compliance date is APRIL 08. I will be contacting them tomorrow to ask why NOT!

I also put my late March 2008 GXL VIN in and it also is not accepted. Poowee! What a crock. This is the newest build Prado, so why would they not do this cheap service across the newest build. Cost Cutters Suck. :? :? :?
