  • New tyres and lift will it fit.

Hi I have a set of 265/70 17 Mickey Thompson MTZs and a Old Man Emu 50 mm suspension kit that I am about to fit to my 07 120 Diesel. I will also add a 16mm spacer and Superior upper control arms in the front and 30 mm coil spacers in the rear. I think it should total a approx 3 inch over standard. Is anyone else running similar setup to this to say the tyres will all clear the guards and be free of any other dramas as I hate tyres rubbing guards.

It'll fit fine. 265/70 fit with no lift.
2007 GXL V6 - ARB Bullbar with LED lights, snorkel, extractors, 2 1/4" dual exhaust, K&N filter, dimpled/slotted rotors, headrest dvd players, Ebay Satnav/reverse camera, GME 3100TX, Tigerz11 Side awning on custom brackets with Maxtrax mounts, 300W Invertor, ARB Underbody protection, Lightbar and STZ 265/70 tyres.
Wish list in order I'll get them: Sliders, 2" lift, E-locker, Winch bar with winch.

You might want to consider spacing down the bumpstops at the front. A 16mm spacer will be close to 35mm extra height over a normal 2" lift. You will also need a diff drop.

For the rear, you may not have enough droop with the 30mm spacer. You might want to consider longer shocks like the one for the 80 series. Instead of spacers, you might be better off with longer or stiffer springs as it will end up cheaper.

your tyres won't be an issue but your suspension set up doesn't make much sense.

Sounds like you want a 3" lift but are planning on buying a 2" lift and then adapting it to get the extra lift, which as AMTS points out will cause issues. If you want a 3"lift then why not go that way from the start with a dedicated 3' setup?

Alternately, if you only want the extra lift so your tyres don't scrub, then don't worry about it and just stick with the OME setup, it will be fine.

        Cheers Andrew

I can see your points the main reason I'm doing it this way is that I got to old man emu kit very cheap brand new and yes I think I do want 3 inch lift so I think I'll put it in and see how it goes if no good I might sell it and buy a 3 inch kit.

What is available in 3 inch lift as far as brands. I really like the ride and handling of the old man emu stuff I have now.
