I got a VX, I like the climate control and the minor lux touches over the standard GX or GXL. I am upgrading my suspension and the first thing the mechanics say to me is it a Grande or VX, coz if a Grande it will cost way more to replace whatever they have as suspension stuff (yes I am not really much of a mechanically minded person haha)

I cannot for the life of me understand why you need to replace the suspension from anything other than what the VX or for that matter the grande already has . If anyone on this site thinks that a VX or a grande is less of a vehicle than the GXL , seriously , I challenge any one of you to put up or shut up . As for traction control problems costing $3000 . If you don't have traction then you will need to put twin diff locks in to go further than TC will take you , and that will cost you a lot more , and as you will read on this site , diff locks are VERY prone to failure .
03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

Perhaps you mean some diff locks, I haven't heard too many issues with the e-lockers.

E-lockers have their issues, one member on the recent GTG thought his E locker was working, but it wasn't.

I also would have thought to say that lockers are VERY prone to failure is one of the many over exaggerations you get reading on forums. A bit of oil leaking past an O-ring is more an annoyance than a failure.

It can also be annoying when oil backs up the line and ruins the compressor . Remember that post .

It's pretty simple really, what do you want in a car? I love the fact I have all the bells and whistles around town (or long blacktop trips) in an an extremely comfortable car, which is where it is mostly driven. On the weekend/holidays whack on the seat covers and I still have a great off-road vehicle with all the same mods. Lift was actually cheaper and traction control helps a bit too... For me it was an easy decision 7 years ago and haven't regretted it once. 8 extra icy cold beers under my left elbow is icing on the cake

After having the Grande for 6 months now, I tend to agree.
Whilst its only an 03 model & doesn't have some of the extra bits the newer ones have, its got everything I need & more.
In my books, as long as it has power windows & cruise - they are the only optional extras I really need, but the cooler box & front & rear dual zone climate are awesome, the kids can be as hot or as cold in the back as they want without complaining to me. lol

And the self levelling suspension for towing trailers is unreal too - especially when taking them on and off. I like being lazy and pumping the bags right up, putting the jockey wheel down then dropping the bags.
