The response to that would be: then why the f*** didn't you do that in the first place, lowlife?Originally posted by Schafferone of the dealers then rang me back and when he heard I had signed was real angry because he was gonna gove me an even better deal
Just makes you want to smack 'em when you hear that kind of crap!

Chocco, you're deal is pretty much on the mark - they have quoted you nearly $3k over the RRP of the base product then given a factory discount to match the overcharge.
Crazy - I need to see proof as your deal is $5k less than any one else in Australia. If you are correct, and I'm very happy to eat humble pie, do the rest of this site a favour and post the dealer and salesperson so we can all leverage this deal. I will be happy to cancel my current order and call him/her asap.
For others who own a Prado, if Crazy is correct your resale just dropped $5k.2012 GXL Diesel Auto.

Dont give them nothing crazy, they think they know all and get smart with you because you got yourself a good deal and they are jealous so let them pay top dollar for their cars and you enjoy your fantastic deal.Originally posted by blkmav90I call bullsh!t :roll:Originally posted by crzy4bI just purchased a 2008 Prado GXL Turbo Diesel on the weekend with a few extras (tow bar and rain shields) for only $49,990 on road.

pradoski you miss the point of what I'm trying to do completely. If someone on this forum gets an outstanding deal they should make it known to all with sales details so we can all take advantage of this. This sort of thing happens on plenty of other sites - it gives us buying power.Originally posted by pradoskiDont give them nothing crazy, they think they know all and get smart with you because you got yourself a good deal and they are jealous so let them pay top dollar for their cars and you enjoy your fantastic deal.Originally posted by blkmav90I call bullsh!t :roll:Originally posted by crzy4bI just purchased a 2008 Prado GXL Turbo Diesel on the weekend with a few extras (tow bar and rain shields) for only $49,990 on road.
What I hate is when people come on to these sort of forums and make claims they can't back. I am no longer asking for a copy of the quote (though that would be nice) but the name and number of the salesman so I can get the same deal.
I have been to 10 dealers in NSW and QLD in the past 4 weeks and have got a really good drive away deal and this has given me a very good idea at how low these guys can go and $49,999 driveaway diesel in 3 months time is WAY too low!2012 GXL Diesel Auto.

crzy4b. Just so you don't feel too crapped on, I believe you, based on my own experience. Besides what does crzy4b have to prove? He got a great deal and told us about it. Surely the information here is to let people know there is room to negotiate a batgain if you're lucky enough. Maybe it's a matter of the right time or place, or just being a good customer for years. Who knows or cares. What the hey. Surely this isn't a matter of who got the biggest or the best, but more 'good luck to you and thanks for letting me know I can try to get one also". The majority of car salesmen use the line, 'he couldn't have got it that price, but I'll give you the best price you can get anywhere in the cosmos" and then come back with an even better price next day when you give him the opposition's quote. There are examples of that in this thread. Sometimes they just can't beat that price, but it doesn't mean someone didn't get it elsewhere. I would hope that we're all happy with the deals we got for a fantistic vehicle, otherwise we wouldn't have made the purchase. I come to this site because everyone seems to enjoy watching others get that same appreciation of a bloody good vehicle.cjd

Actually guys, I was told by my dealer that Toyota are on to these type of dealers because they have to have a customer order before they can order the vehicle from Toyota. Some dealers are offering really low prices so they can get a vehicle on their lot and then tell the customer that the price has unfortunately gone up considerably out of their control and blame Toyota Aust for the increase. The vehicle is then sold with little or no discount.
I personally know of a case in Adelaide where this happened recently, so as the saying goes caveat emptor
I would want more than a quotation before expecting to take delivery at that price

Not sure what the issue is here
Based on the RRP of $55,790 for a GXL TD Manual (taken from Tojo website today) I would expect to drive one out the dor for $50k on fleet pricing
Similarly when i bought my VX TD a year ago the RRP was about 1k less than today and i paid 60k for it drive away, happy to scan my invoice if you want.

I just purchased mine yesterday:
2008 (April build) GXL V6 Auto in Silver and includes the capped servicing deal ($180 capped for the fist 6 services, all parts and labour included, excluding wear and tear items like wiper blades, tyres, etc, etc).
Paid $52,000 drive away in Qld.
Given that they are $51,990 plus on-roads and metalic paint, I basically got all those for nothing (almost $5,000 all up I think - Deliv, $1,800, Stamps $2,000, rego $600, Paint $400). And, as we know, the standard pricing is $57,790 plus on-roads.
I was pretty happy with the deal.
Cheers
Dan
