GXL Option Pack 1 - Dealer installation or factory?

Hello again,

Does anyone know if option pack 1 is a dealer or factory installation? Reason for asking is that a dealer I approached as a couple of GXL's without the option pack and I'm wondering if the dealer fits this or do I have order a car from the factory with it fitted.

From what I have been told it is a Factory Fit not a dealer fit.

If it has airbags and perhaps rear air it would be a factory installation only.

Its a factory fit.
If its the auto you will get the traction control, stability control, down hill assist and side air curtains.
The GXL climate control is fitted at factory as it has the side air vents in the roof and considering thats where the airbags are for the side protection, would you trust a dealer to fit the side air venting without stuffing the side air bags. I certainly wouldnt.

They are definitely factory fitted.

I had one dealership, offering to do the same thing. They were just trying to move badly ordered floor stock.

If the dealership is offering this I would go some where else !!

Thanks for this. Have decided to move on as I too suspect the same thing. It's tough finding a decent dealer (or am I living with the fairies in thinking this...)

I played all the dealers off for price and saved quite a few $ but I had a trade in to play with plus accessories.

I don't think I am supposed to mention dealers names but the service guys at toyota between hornsby and wahroonga have been very good for a number of years.

They found major problems that other supposedly good dealers couldn't.

Keep in mind if you do come across a GXL or any other model really with option packs alrready fitted sitting on the lot then they could be a cancelled order

$1000 for my option pack - but that is because it is a Manual (miss out on the DAC and something else from memory)

I got mine for $1888.00 and thats for GXL auto with Option Pack One. I got Side seat airbags, side curtains, Stability Assist, Traction Control. When I picked up my Prado, I also found out that it came up with Down Hill Assist.

Not a bad price for all that. I got mine from Scifleet Kedron Brisbane.
