Hello boys,
I have mentioned before about wanting a bit more grunt from my 1KZ engine it's an 06 120 , and I really like it , but towing my caravan ( about 2300 ish loaded ) it does struggle on the hills a bit , I have a 3 inch exhaust , so it's a start, have been thinking of a chip also but been procrastinating for I don't know how long , anyway went along and spoke to Graeme at GTUTBO DIESEL PERFORMANCE, ( on a recommendation ) they are in Balcatta in WA, on Facebook and worth a look.
They use a DTE MODULE and all kinds of turbos way above my head , Quote - the DTE module has features that uni chip owners could only dream about,
I must admit he did seem to know what he was talking about,
For me I could go to a different turbo , different inter cooler , etc ,etc, but he recommended for my situation just a stage one, which is the module and dyno to fine tune and optimise ( they do the dyno too ) from my understanding they plug / connect into the injectors ,fuel pump , and could be turbo but might have the turbo bit wrong , they put the boost up to 18 / 19 psi ,
I mentioned the steinbouer chip only because it gets a lot more mention , his Quote was
, the steinbouer chip had two partners, After a while they went there own way and hence the DTE module came about supposed to have more features than the steinbouer and certainly the uni hip , but who am I to say
So my question is anyone used GTUTBO or the DTE MODULE , ( like I said he was recommended by a friend of a friend has used them but for a much bigger job and very very impressed )
The complete set up would be $ 2400 supplied fitted dyno'd before and after
