  • Cleaning Chassis Rail

    Hi Guys,

I recently purchased a second hand Toyota Prado. The car has a lot of mud build up in the chassis rail. I tried to put a hose in the holes and run water but I was unsuccessful in removing all the mud.

Do you guys have any tips/suggestions as I would really like to clean this up.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Sons pooey ute was the same. Just keep at it and soften the muck. You will get it eventually. We made up a 'wand' out of 1/2" copper tube and poked and pushed.

I just took my rear bar off today to finish the rear camera install and found the same in the rear chassis rail.

I normally get the high pressure cleaner and stick the "gun" tip into the rail and blow it all out. Works a treat, but yes my mate also have the "snake" cleaner as mentioned above and raves about it.

That drain cleaner looks very useful. Cheaper than my recent plumber callout fee to unblock a drain. Might invest in one. At least it has dual purpose usage.
