  • KDJ120 test drive

    Hi all

I took my first KDJ120 for a road test today.

Im not sure what I was expecting.

When idle at a set of traffic lights, do they normally feel like they are idling rough while the air con is on??

When you engage 4wd, should their be any other light on the dash, other than the 4wd symbol. Like VSC been turned off?

Prados are full time 4WD. Your only option from there is to put the transfer case into HIGH LOCK or put it in LOW LOCK or NEUTRAL.

And should only be used when on dirt surfaces or off road.

hmm, paid 25k for a 2006 vx 4l auto with 115000k on the clock, bulbar (genuine), new tyres, brake controller and dual battery (both of which had to be replaced within a month of purchase and the dual controller was just a solenoid triggered by the ignition so it has cost me a grand already) - I guess 22 isn't too bad...

Mine is occasionally rough at the traffic lights. It's fine if you knock it into neutral. Beginning to think the engine mounts are gone

Mine did that just after I got it years back. Idled very rough at the lights when cold and in gear. Got them replaced under the dealer warranty. About $650 from memory through Toyota.

Yes, engine mounts. Solved the problem immediately and haven't had any issues since.

Engine mounts are a common problem.
Rough in drive or reverse, worse when cold.
                              Worse in low range.

Cheap under $100 each fitting is fun or $$$.
