  • 120 series recovery points

    Hi,

I'm looking for a reputable brand of recovery points for 120 series. Similar to these - but don't want cheap knock-offs that could turn into missiles if they shear off.

    Reccomendations please?

    thanks

Installed Amts' recovery points yesterday. These will be be the solution for post 2006 120's with an arb deluxe bar as previously there has not been any about that would fit. Easy to fit and no need to remove the bar . The bit that was the most time consuming was retrieving the old captive nuts then putting the arb side bash plates on as they were a bit dinged up. Another great product!<br />

        Thanks.

I'm in New Zealand. So after brand names that I can source via dealers here, and I'm pretty much a stock 120 series for the moment.

I'm worried about two things (1) Have they been stress tested and rated? (2) freight cost to NZ.

I've got AMTS ones fitted to my car. They are a strong bit if kit and heavy, but not tested. I don't think there is a tested option for the 120 if you have an ARB bar.

            I'm a happy customer.

Hey Scott there are a couple of old threads if you search google for" arb deluxe bar recovery points pradopoint "that explain the lack of options for a post 06 120.
Maybe enquire about freight as you may find them still competative or better in price. If you use an equaliser strap and are confident in who is recovering you that they are not going to back right up to your car then floor it you would probably get away with existing tie downs as post 06 tie downs are welded differently than pre but I think you would have to have some seriously extreme pressure on these amts ones for them to give. I think the weaker point would be the chassis on your vehicle.

Thanks for the info, I've sent AMTS a message on FB.

As I said, no bullbar as yet (can't afford bar and suspension upgrade yet), so just looking to put something on in case I get bogged on a wet field, and the farmer needs to pull me out

You can always save yourself the money and attach an equaliser strap around both front lower suspension arms and then run your snatch strap to this.

AMTS does different versions depending on bar/no bar.
Otherwise roadsafe do ones for the 120.

I've got AMTS fitted too and very happy with them. They're 3 bolt vs 2 on the roadsafe ones so I'd expect more load shared?. The road safe ones are supposedly tested to 11ton but I think the chassis would give way before then.

Personally I'd be happy using the existing tie downs and a bridle for a simple recovery on a post 06 model, as they're bolted and welded on the 120. (I'm not getting into a debate about them here though) but some people I go out with want recovery points on
