  • How to replace washer fluid tank

I was in a frontal accident last summer and due to an oversight, I did not make sure that the water tank was fitted correctly by the repair shop. Given how little we actually use wipers here, I had not used the wipers much last winter, during the last service, the dealer pointed out that the tank is cracked and it needs replacing.

It is now too late to return to the original shop now, I am hoping that I can replace this myself. Can any one here provide advise as to how to replace this part?

    Cheers.

You can access the reservoir with pumps which is located behind the plastic covers in the wheel arch ahead of the driver's side front wheel. It is fixed to the rear of the front apron below the headlight assembly. Jack the car and remove the wheel. Remove the plastic covers. Unclip the wiring loom connector and remove the 2 rubber water pipes. The reservoir is attached via 2 or 3 10mm bolts. The top extension that holds the fill lid and dipstick can be pulled off from the top inside the engine bay.

Thanks Dave, is the location the same for LHD and RHD vehicles? My reservoir is on the right hand side of the car.
