New Member 1st 4WD

G'Day everyone
just purchased a 2003 GXL 3.0 td. This will be our 1st 4WD. Spent plenty of time riding bikes in the dirt in enduros etc. Thought is was time to get 4 wheels on the ground. Will probably join a 4wd club before spending any money on accessories, but out of interest (the vehicle is stock standard) what are some of the 1st requirements that would be recommended. I was thinking to get a recovery kit and rated recovery hooks as a starter. At least I would them be able to get dragged out of any stupid situations I will obviously get myself in :roll:

Great start, and if you intend to join a club then they will be a requirement for trips/events anyway.

If you are on a budget then get things as you need them. For instance some clubs require you to have AT tyres as a minimum for their bigger off road trips/treks though you may get away with the stockers for training/weekend events.

A cargo barrier, fire extinguisher and first aid kit were some of the first things I got.

After that the skys the limit...or your cash flow is anyway :lol:
