  • Cheap fix for roof lining coming Way?

What have people done? About a third of mine has come away in the boot.

On the old commodore I used to have I tried spray adhesive but no good as the foam rubber had deteriorated. Ended up emptying a staple gun cartridge all over it. Wasn't pretty by any means but it worked. If you want it right then replacement is the only option.

2004 petrol auto, 233 000km. Cracked dash and no help from Toyota!

I'll probably go the staple gun route too.

I seen a commodore that had been done with fancy thumb tacks. You buy them at hobby stores and they were a brown/bronze colour with a textured finish to the head. They come in various colours I think

Looked quite good I to me.

It's not that expensive to get it replaced by an auto trimmer. Otherwise you'll need to use spray on fabric glue but it will end up looking like a 2 dollar job.

Oh, okay, will get a quote, otherwise the fancy thumb tacks sound good. May try them first before I get around to getting a quote.

The roof lining in my son's old camry came down so he used thumb tacks as a temporary fix. He was driving along the highway and when he wound the window down the whole roof lining came down over his head whilst he was driving. I put it in to an upholsterer an got it all fixed for about $300.
