If you not particularly after a prado or 4x4 then have a look at the Mazda CX 9. Very nice car, like the previous post second row seats can be moved. Enough room at the back for a stroller etc.

    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

I have 6 kids and wondering if a 120GXL will fit a family of 8, with all kids under 10 years of age? All seats will be taken up. Is life going to be too squishy for the kids?
My wife and I are looking at Prado at the moment over a Tarago...

      regards,

check out delicias - friend has one and they fit 6 kids in and gear - being a forward cabin design, they have more internal space on similar wheelbase.
I'm guessing you're resigned to having to tow a trailer.

We've got 4 kids under 7 and with them all in our 120 GXL it is good at the moment. We put 2 in the middle row and 2 in the back row, keeping them all out of arms reach of each other! We have a baby capsule and toddler seat in the middle row, so the two in the back have to climb over the seats to get to the back row.

There's no way I'd keep the 120 if we had 6 kids, the middle seat in the back row is a joke, Toyota would have been better off putting 2 full size seats in the back, like a patrol, rather than squeezing 3 in there, but I spose it helps the marketing.

I looked at getting a delica, but the whole import thing and their reliability issues were too much of a concern for me.

You wouldn't go wrong with a 100 series I reckon, they are cheaper than a similar age prado too.

After having had the Prado long enough, we still think that it is the best buy for both safety and practicality. Whilst the 100 series may be slightly larger inside, it only had 7 lapsash seat belts and was therefore no improvement on the 80 series; and I note the 120 Prado has had eight lap sash belts since the first of this model in 2003 (as ours proves). The 200 does have the extra lap sash belt but in order to match the Grande in terms of fitout and extras, you are looking at some big dollars.
