    WARNING Radiator damage from electrical connector!

    Friends up the Cape have just sent photos of the damage done to their radiator by an electrical connector that sits between the radiator and the a/c condensor.
    It has rubbed back and forth till its worn through the body of the radiator causing coolant loss.

    There is a trim on top of the raditor that has to be removed to check if the connector is rubbing or not.

    Best check it now!

    p.s theirs is a 1KZ but don't know if it would make a differnce.

    p.p.s posted here as I did not know wether to put it petrol or diesel or both.

            Ours was the Prado that had the radioator problem.

            Make sure you check it before too much damage is done! :!:

            You will need to take off the plastic trim on top of the radiator. The electrical connector that rubber through the radiator is between the main raidiator and the air conditioning condensor.

            Glad its been fixed and no damage done to the engine.

            Toyota dealer has footed the bill for the repairs.

                Replaced the whole radiator and have zip clipped all cables well away from the new radiator.

                  You will need to take off the plastic trim on top of the radiator. The electrical connector that rubber through the radiator is between the main raidiator and the air conditioning condensor.

                  I checked mine today, the only connector in the area is a free one clipped up behind the bonnet catch well out the way.

                  Is this the one in your case? :?: It must have either dropped down or got pinched in there during the AC install. :?:

                              Mine is clear,
                              But I don't have any spare 4pin connectors with a boot as shown, only a spare two pin connector tied back in way of the A/C liquid line sight glass.
                              Hope all is well now Stan, a bugger of a place to have that sort of problem.
