Just ad a notice from the DTI about an immobilisier not being fitted on recently purchased 03 prado grande???!!!

Pretty sure it's standard! Any idea on the Type? I would have thought a factory fitted immobiliser would be enough for them?

My understanding in WA was that they could not legally sell the vehicle without an immobilizer.

Ccorrect me if I'm wrong, but the way I read it is that it is the buyer's responsibility to check the car they are purchasing has an approved immobiliser fitted. It does say though for the seller to provide any paperwork to help with this, but yeah, its up to the buyer.

Maybe I'm wrong.

If it doesn't have one, maybe you can get one fitted - they are fairly inexpensive these days.

Umm pretty sure that its a factory fit???

Lock it with the remote on the key and its immobilized. Fuel, and ign i think.

In the hands of the DPI now. Seems the change of ownership form wasn't clear - it had a tick in the 'has immobiliser' box??! Certain it was factory fitted.

Time will tell.
