    Re: Sump Plug

Sump guard or not.. this bit would worry me:

If you are using the Engine Oil Drain Valve on off-road vehicles and do not have a sump guard covering the Fumoto Drain Valve, it is recommended that a hose clip  or cable tie  be used for added safety and security. The hose clip or cable tie will firmly keep the lever in the locked position at all times.
These can be purchased at hardware stores.

Handy if you do 5k km oil changes and a lot of travelling.... doing a service every month or so.

      Re: Sump Plug

The first thing that you might see is the engine oil warning light coming on followed by lots of rattling. If the lever got caught up on undergrowth or a tree root I don't think a plastic cable tie would be enough to hold and would snap. But if your not doing any off road driving, would certainly make oil changes easier

I'm going to buy one of these.

Can anyone please confirm that the size of the sump plug for a 120 series diesel is 12mm-1.25

You might have to wait until someone does an oil change and can check the size for you.

Or maybe try ringing you dealers service department....

Good on ya Oldsalt I hope it fits allright. Should make oil changes a lot quicker and easier. I am surprised you couldn't get the size of the thread from a local toyota dealer.
I bet its been hot in Kadina today, Bloody hot here in the Barossa. Any way let us know how you get on with it.
