Well.... My 40 thou service was $900 so don't feel bad. The quality of service is good, but not worth that much. But hey.. they put in a diesel additive which is "a special thing they do" (their words), so I guess I can't complain.......... :? :? :? :?

Just got my paperwork for my 120k service including:

brake pads replaced
front brake rotor machine
replacement wipers
replace alternator drive belt

all for just over $800. Gotta luv having contacts in the business.

I had my first free 1500Klm service done at Toyota and they quoted me $265 plus parts (oil, filter etc)for the 10,000 service. I went to Ultratune and was quoted $165 including all parts,for a 10.000K service.
Consequently, I have never taken it back to Toyota for a service, she has only been serviced at Ultratune and I have done 390,000 Klms with no problems.

Did Ultratune use genuine Toyota parts or aftermarket for that price?

I personally won't put any non-genuine parts untill the car is still under warranty.

BTW, took my D4D for a 40K service last Sat. The grand total was $499 including parts and labour, a $25 Saturday surcharge and a new window wiper.
Very happy.

Anyone know off han how much a 160k service for the 1kz diesel is?? Looking at the service book it says to replace coolant, rotors etc. Just need to get a rough ball park figure as it might be cheaper to do some of it myself.

The first couple of services (Petrol) are basically just oil and filter, Ultratune used aftermarket filters, but on the major service where the plugs and airfilter were changed they had to use Toyota genuine parts as apparently back then there were not many after market parts in production.
I had to take the vehicle back to Toyota for two warranty repairs (Noisy idler rollers and a problem with one of the electric windows) and they did not quibble at all about the repairs, however the service manager did try to convince me that only they could service it correctly and he filled my car with service brochures.

If there are ny issues on aftermarket parts failing due to the parts being faulty then yes Toyota does not have to warrant the claim but where you took the vehicle will have to sort out any claims , you only void full warranty if an unregistered mechinic , back yarder or yourself ( if not registered ) do services

I am bored at work at the moment so I gave a dealer ship in Perth a call and went by 2003 diesel manual 160k service includes oil , fuel filters change diff's , gear box transfer case brake and coolant fluids and the normal inspection of vehicle for $836.70 your coment about replacing rotors the service would be to check them and replace if required at extra cost . If you yhink you can take the job on , do it at a guess service parts about $200 - $220 max saving over $500 + for 3 hours work

My 60000 kms service is due on 2007 D4D,

Quoted $550 .

Just purchased my 2006 diesel Prado with 77000km's on the clock so thought I would check what price I was looking at for the 80000km service at my local Toyota dealership.
80000km service with parts $740 :evil:
90000km $280
100000km $460 :cry:
I think I will change the oil and filters and grease everything myself and get the valve clearance checked separately somewhere else.

The 80,000 includes the timing belt though doesn't it? If you think that's bad you should try owning a Jeep. Won't see much change from 2 grand!

But yeah with Toyota it pays to shop around. When I had the 160k service on my petrol V6 I was quoted from $680 right up to $1250. And that included ME doing the plugs, oil and filters.

does anyone have costs for the 150K service on the 4L V6 this includes checking/replacing the timming chain. Want to get some pricing if possible
