  • Prado 1:18 scale model (120 series)

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has a diecast model of a 1:18 scale 120 series Prado ?

I've seen a few on eBay and was wondering about their quality, price etc and any other info that you might think relevent about them
They are from China sellers though, can they be sourced locally ?

Since I have an 06 Prado GXL, I'd like a model of one to display alongside my other model cars
The models I've seen are left hand drive versions, but I can handle that if thats all that is available

    Cheers
    06 GXL

      Hi,

I bought a model in Temple Street Markets in Hong kong last year. Not sure what the actual size is as I don't have the box anymore. Typical Chinese - headlights turn on and engine revs when rolled on the ground. Stereo starts playing when doors are opened.

Apart from left hand drive and no door window frames, very close replica.

Payed about HK$70 which is about Aud$14.00.

Re: Prado 1:18 scale model (120 series)

Forgive me if I'm not supposed to post links like this, as I dont want to be seen as advertising them, but these are the ones I'm looking at on eBay

          http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0390045501
          http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0268556439
          http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1-18-2006-TOYOTA ... 240%3A1318

I've noted (along with the price) that the bonet hinges and engine detail are different on the last link compared to the first 2 links
The seats fold up like the real 1:1 car in all 3
This is why I was asking about the quality of them, but I guess no one has one of the models. I might have to be the "guinea pig" then
To give an idea of the detail I'd like - with other 1:18 models I have (aussie cars) the steering wheel is actually connected to turn the front wheels and I was wondering if these Prado models were also that detailed ?

Thanks for your pics johnv, but going by the door hinges I suspect yours might be of a scale smaller than 1:18 ? (note the model with the 1:1 key next to it for sizing)
I'm still interested to see your pics also masso

          Cheers

Well got the model today and even the wife was happy with it
Have had a good look all over it and the build quality is top notch.the back row chairs fold up as do the 6th & 7th seats in the cargo area.was amazed it has direct steering from the drivers wheel.all in all great product thats sits proudly on my desktop but it is a bit pricey
