    Re: Prado console issue

Well we might have to end up putting some of that 3M Stone guard film on it. The only thing is keeping it on at the egdes but the stuff sticks quite well as I want to get some more and put it around the door handle depression.

As careful as I am I still have a few patches where the black is showing through,
and when i was originally using Armorall it discoloured a few bits around the edges of the silver, was going to get them resprayed Prado silver when I get the Bonnet done, but they arent sure how it will go on the light plastic.

Looking into now. Will get back to ya'll soon. I found some the other day trawling the internet. I found some 4" (100mm) wide strips and they were not expensive...if my memory is still working correctly I think it was around $22USD??? Have to go back and do some more looking. IF I can find it I will post the information.

Seems to be a common cause here. Maybe we should tackle the cause and not just try and fix the problem after the event..........now what could we do, how do we stop handbags from getting in the car???

                  Re: Prado console issue

I have them off now as I am replacing the stereo, I will give them a couple of coats of wax, maybe that would help. I recommend painting them in stead of replacement, what would be the closest color match? Any codes from popular spray can manufacturers would be appreciated. . . .

                    Re: Prado console issue

I have never tried this myself, but don't some paint suppliers, possibly even Bunnings colour match by scanning the original and then supply it in a spray pack?
