    Fuel low warining light

    Hi
    i decided to see how much fuel it would take when the low fuel light comes on
    but now the fuel light stays on all the time any ideas or should i just take it back to Toyota

      Have you tried putting fuel in it to see if that turns the light off?

              Well I wouldn't have thought of that so he's got one up on me :mrgreen: :shock: :mrgreen:

              Must be that some sort of gumpf has gotten into the fuel warning light sensor. No idea how that sensor actually works though. If the fuel gauge reads full then it's obviously not associated with fuel level readings. Must be some type of sensor that gets tripped when there's no fuel covering it. Maybe check the old fuel filter as well to see if there's anything in it.

              Incidentally, how much fuel did you pump in?
