Dont want to rain on your parade, but a ball joint is an item that is basically designed to wear out (or break in extreme circumstances) there might be a chance that Mr Tojo could put it down to abuse and therefore not warrantable. I think it depends very much on your dealer using the right words back to Toyota to ensure it is a warranty claim...something like fatigue or poor manufacture of part or something, good luck with it, and I hope all goes well, but just to be safe, there is a chance they could deny warranty

Yeah we did realize that.

However i just got off the phone with Toyota, and our warranty fix has been approved! YAY! now we are just waiting on the part to arrive so they can install it.

My local dealer wanted me to pay $25 to have bits sent air express from Sydney - Melbourne. After they supplied me with the wrong part (front diff bearing 90 series) I told them your problem you can pay. So I ended up waiting 4 days for the stuff to get here. I've had gear come fromthe USA faster.

Got our Prado back LATE this afternoon from Prosser Toyota. Just in time for the weekend. All covered by warranty.
Drives a lot better now.
