It could be any Nissan owner - they're all a bit sick....

....I should know, i was one!!

In all fairness, from nearly 10 years experience with Nissan dealerships, Toyota dealerships are no better - well not the one down around Melville area anyway, the name of the dealership escapes me.....

Annnnnnyway.... back to the topic at hand..... Does anyone know anything more about this extermination / disappearance / invisibility / axing / general going away of the Sovereign bull bars? I went to ask a few questions at the local Toyo spare parts bench but of course they are closed Saturdays.  Sales guys were no help, but did try selling me a new Hilux...

Of course this is currently being treated as top-secret by the marketing department........

Heaven forbid that Toyota actually promoted this by telling folks about the new options or provided pictures or specifications.....people may buy them!

Sorry to spoil the speculation but the new bar looks the same as the old one & the only obvious visable difference is there are brackets (nice fit) supplied to support the front vertical section of the guard liners,(the front horizontal section of the liners are now cut off) & when the bars are supplied in the box the top rail & vertical are already fitted to the bar section

The one today lined up perfectly when initally fitted (some are difficult to line up) but this might have been a fluke

                Regards Don

The question is then.... will the winch cradle for the new model BullBar fit on the old Sovereigns? If so then I can rest easy. If not then I need to take welding classes. :? :?

                    Re: Toyota Bull bars

I got my bullbar a week and a half ago (six weeks after vehicle delivery). I discussed the matter with the service manager several times and I asked about the reason for the delay. It is true that the manufacturer had gone into receivership; this left a minimal stock around the country so some people may have been lucky and others may not have. It was explained to me that a company in Melbourne (I think) had purchased the license to produce the new bullbar. As of 2 or 3 weeks ago they were tooling up to take over the manufacture of the bullbars.

                    Cheers,

                      Re: Toyota Bull bars

My bullbar has been on for about two weeks. At the time of booking it in for the installation the parts department looked up availability and stated "they've got heaps in Sydney", or words to that effect.

That is not a new part number... here is an extract from the Toyota accessories listing... take note of the date, this part number is at least two years old :!:

I thought I heard on Saturday night that the Toyota bar is now using ARB style mountings or something along those lines
