  • AC Problems

All was working fine a week ago. The AC no longer works unless it is in the MAX Cold setting, anything lower appears to diminish the effectiveness of the compressor? I never had this happen to me before, especially not on a Toyota. Any thought as to what could be the culprit? Cheers.

    Re: AC Problems

assuming the a/c fan is still working on the lower settings, I would say you have no gas or need a regas.

      Re: AC Problems

Hi there. Yes, the fan is still blowing at the higher temperature setting. However, at the Max Cold setting the AC is ice cold which means there is enough refrigerant in there. The car is just over two years old and this should not happen on a Toyota. I will have the dealer look at it at the next visit, as long as it is working for now, I can wait for another 1,500 KM.

      Cheers.

It is common on alot of vehicles I would suggest to have the resister replaced .

Where can I find this resister? Is it a DIY jobbie?

I do not know what the set up is on the 120 series but I would imagine a fiddly job under the dash . I have done a couple on other vehicles just a matter of un plugging and replacing but removing a lot of the dash at the same time there normally located near the fan motor .
