      Re: Reversing Work Lights

      G'day,

I have a 100w Hella worklight mounted to my rear roof rack bar. I made the bracket to bolt under the roof rack, to get it as low as possible, and I leave the light in the horizontal position until I need to use it. Never had any problems with height, as it is only just heigher than the roof rack bar. It's also less tempting to the light finger brigade.

      Regards,
      Bazza.

See also viewtopic.php?f=16&t=8201 - I have almost finished mine; just getting the AUX Battery installed on Wednesday.

I've used the Kaymar bracket and it works beautifully...I painted the upright black, a bit of a wank, but it looks better. I ahve also replaced the light with a Narva dual beam work light.

            Re: Reversing Work Lights

I believe the Kaymar work light can be raised approx 18" above where it normally resides.

A question though - where are you running your wiring for your light? I have heard some people are drilling a hole through the centre of one of the bolts that hold the Kaymar bracket onto the door. Interesting thought, but I have never seen this done yet.

What are the alternatives for running the wires for powering the work light besides drilling a hole into the back door and running the wiring through a grommet?

              Re: Reversing Work Lights

I just drilled a hole in the back door, used a gromet and soem gasket goo. I guess the other option is running it around the door somehow.
