  • INFO ON REAR AIR

    Hi everyone,

I want to modify my Dec 06 GXL - 120 and put in the rear air - or at least plumb in some pipes and vents -

I have searched everywhere for the post that had the toyota parts list link on it................cant find it now.

Before anyone has the regular cheap shot..........use the search button..........etc etc..... I have been searching every night for a week and now have admitted defeat.

I would even be interested if someone with a VX or Grande had the manual / info on hand to share.

Any help from the regulars out there??????????????

Big job.. very big job. You will need to find a wrecked Grande / VX to get bits from as there is a hell of a lot of extra pipes and stuff from the front to back.

          Or a 2008 on GXL
Personally if i needed rear air that much, I'd trade it in and get one with it already in.

To trade it in just for air = $40,000 change over price = thats a F@#$king expensive air con

I will see what I can come up with - thanks for the link MickL

sorry wasn't meaning to offend ... I didn't realise the changeover cost was that much to go from a 2006 GXL diesel to a mid 2008 GXL diesel  ( but obviously you do get more than just rear air eg climate control, D4-D engine etc )
                good luck with it.
                Cheers, Wayne

No offence taken - but I can tell you if I am upgrading it wont be from a 2006 to a 2008 model - $40,000 change over is for a new 150 series VX 8) 8) 8)

                      Re: INFO ON REAR AIR

I use mine all the time too here in Karratha. It helps to keep that part of the air moving around and cools the Prado down faster when sitting out in the sun. Just turn it to auto and as soon as it gets to the temp you want it will slow the fan in the bad down to normal.

                        Re: INFO ON REAR AIR

Yeah it's great, especially with kids. They are always complaining that they aren't getting any air in the back of my SS-V wagon. But the Prado cools down in no time flat and they don't winge either.
                        Regards,
