I am not sure what an immaculate 04 GXL Manual with 213,000km on the clock with its original V6 engine engine fully rebuilt at 167,000kms is worth to advertise for sale in this market.
We live in Perth
It has satin black Prado wheels with Bridgstone AT Duellers 265/70/17 / white lettering and certainly looks the part and is quick
There is no body panel damage/dents/dings/chips/no rust / etc and interior is good
It is my wifes car and we have owned it for 6yrs of bitumen only driving and no towing as my own daily driver is a company supplied Hi-lux dual cab 2.7ltr turbo diesel which comes fully kitted out for country driving as part of my job, so i have always had company supplied 4WD's
Back at 167,000kms the engine ran real sweet like new but a leaking radiator without my wife aware in the middle of summer resulted in overheated/warped heads.
We had a respected workshop (he builds race engines as well ) fully rebuild the engine and the heads had to be ditched for another set fully re-furbed and back on the road with a $9,000 bill
The block was fully tested and cylinders bored out for replacement repair size pistons/rings and the engine is now a 4.1litres
Other engine related work that was carried out - fuel pump replaced / tanks dropped and flushed - new reserve tank hose / new Natrad radiator and all hoses / new harmonic balancer / New Aircon pump / New Injectors / New O2 sensors / New MAF sensor and the list goes on saw another $4,700 spent taking all engine related work to a total of $13,700
I bought the Prado off a client who are farmers down south at Popannining (north of Narrogin) and it was his wifes car and always serviced from new by Narrogin Toyota hence why i bought it for my wife as the only off-bitumen work it ever did was good gravel roads to their farm gate off the Great Southern highway and no bush bashing or beach work
It still has the factory bull bar with winch option and large Lightforce spotties & modern touchscreen head unit with satnav/bluetooth etc etc
Anyway asking for opinions on ball park price taking into consideration the mighty quad cam V6 engine has only done 46,000kms and is tight and smooth as silk
Sadly my wife has been diagnosed with MS and her left leg is weaker and constant pain like sciatic nerve pain and she can no longer drive a manual despite her love of manual shifting as she has always driven manual cars by choice since she was 18
I have bought her another 120 Prado GXL 2007 auto with 230,000kms which i paid $22,000 private sale as she loves the 120 Prado's so much especially the seats and driving position which i can understand as the Prado is more comfortable seating than my late model Hi-Lux dual cab. The 2007 replacement is not in as good condition as our 04 but hard to find any that have not done high mileage and worse for wear
