After standing for a couple of days, my 2007 120 series, with 260k on the clock, now takes for ever to start, eventually it will start then will just cut out, but only once, then it will eventually start and run perfectly. However it will start first time the next day. It has a relatively new battery, so spins over at a good rate. To overcome the starting problem, I pump the bleed button on top of the fuel filter if it has been standing for a few days and it starts first time and no stalling. The only thing I can think of is it's loosing fuel pressure over time, but where is the fuel going? There are no external leaks. Or maybe air is getting into the system, but I would have thought fuel would come out rather than air going in? This has only just started to occur a couple of weeks ago, out of the blue. Any advice on what to check first would be much appreciated. Alan

Check the one way valve located in the top of the fuel filter. Also check Toyota recall for this valve replacement in later Prados.

Yes, that was my thinking, a one-way valve not sealing properly. Though I'm not too sure how to check it, apart from replacing it? I understand there is a return valve in the injection pump, which I assume is only one-way, I'm thinking that could cause the same problem? But the one-way valve on the fuel filter does seem the most obvious, and easiest fixed. Many thanks for your tip Kitbags.
